VERVE APARTMENTS - AMALGAMATED PROPERTY GROUP

BRIEF: Verve apartments is an prestigious residential only tower situated in the heart of Broadbeach Gold Coast. The apartments most with beachfront views where designed with exclusivity and modern luxury at mind. The developer Amalgamated property wish to give their clients the opportunity to personalise their apartment and so a variety of colour schemes and fit outs where offered. Harmony Timber Floors was brought on board to help offer timber solutions as an option for buyers.

PROPOSAL: Working with architects and design teams at DBI design and with close consultation with the construction manager Matrix Builders Harmony came up with a customised solution selecting a species not usually carried within our
core range. The species selected Brazilian Walnut (Lapacho) is a unique timber with dark chocolate tones and traces of green and gold in the sapwood and has an elegance that was perfectly paired with this development. Harmony source the timber and manufactured boards to the desired specifications.

RESULTS: The timber was installed over a two month period and was laid on Harmony's Silent night underlay in order to meet acoustic specification. The results met all client expectations with every buyer who selected the timber option more than happy with the aesthetics and feel of their floor. The floors where featured in all post construction sales and marketing
material.



ZEN APARTMENTS - USHER POWELL DEVELOPMENTS

BREIF: Zen apartments is a boutique six unit development situated on the prominent Murphy's road at Kingscliff. The development is situated on an absolute beachfront block and comprised 5 levels with two apartments per floor and two penthouses. The apartments where marketed in the ultra-prestigious category and the internal fit out including the
flooring had to reflect this status.

PROPOSAL: Working with design teams at QSP design solutions and architects and Resortcorp Harmony technical representatives put forward a variety of species and profile choices we felt would compliment the design concept. Finally Harmony Brazilian Cherry was selected as the timber that had the richness and character that would best offset the internal design and fixtures. A wide board profile was selected to give the floor a more modern appeal.

RESULTS: The floors were installed over a two week period with the pre-finished format essential in helping to meet construction deadlines. This is a case where the pictures speak for themselves, the rich diversity of tones and grain found in the Brazilian Cherry makes for a striking floor that exudes class and wealth. This is a floor that helps cement the property's prestigious status and assisted in the quick sale of all six units.



THE BEACH SHACKS - RESORT CORP

BREIF: A throw back to the beach houses of the '50s and '60s the beach shacks development is composed of 37 free standing residents situated in the heart of Casuarina Beaches Vibrate residential precinct. Durability was a key factor for the developer in selecting the floor knowing that they would be exposed to heavy traffic and hash environmental conditions.

PROPOSAL: After considering all the key design and construction variables associated with the project as well as the requirements of the end-user. Harmony floors suggested that a natural strand woven bamboo be specified which would give the light shades desired by the design teams while still providing durability and long-term stability.

RESULTS: The 37 houses where installed over a 2 month period and where beyond the expectations of all involved. The photos of the floors where featured heavily in all sales related material and helped ensure a quick sale of all apartments.



SALT AND PEPPERS RESORT KINGSCLIFF – RAY GROUP

BREIF: To create the ultimate in beachside accommodation with floors that would complement the modern furniture and fixing while still offering warmth and durability. Installation time needed to be kept to minim and acoustics where a concern.

PROPOSAL: After working with design and architectural teams associated with the project White Oak was selected as the species that best suited the aesthetic requirements of the project. A single strip format with a 90mm profile was specified to give the floor a traditional appearance. Roberts Harmony Underlay was utilised to meet the acoustic requirements of the project

RESULTS: 200 Units were installed over a 3 month period with positive results for all parties involved. The floors have since become a major feature of the hotel design and are often mentioned in hotel promotional activity and featured in such shows as Getaway.
